Iran’s Hosseinpour Collects Silver in Taekwondo at Hangzhou
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian taekwondo athlete Alireza Hosseinpour claimed a silver medal in the 2022 Asian Games on Tuesday.
He lost to Banlung Tubtimdang of Thailand 2-0 during the Men's 63kg in Hangzhou.
Hosseinpour had defeated athletes from South Korea, Pakistan, Indonesia and Jordan on his way to the final.
A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
