Iran, Vietnam to Ink PTA, Bartering Deal
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Vietnam will sign a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) and bartering deal to strengthen trade and economic ties.
Acting Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Mehdi Zeyghami and Vietnamese Ambassador to Iran Luong Quoc Huy held talks at the venue of the organization on Saturday for bolstering ties in the fields of trade and economy.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed trade and economic relations as well as the upcoming visit of the Vietnamese parliament speaker to Tehran and his planned meetings with Iranian traders and businesspersons.
Also, it was agreed that a list of names of traders from the two countries be prepared to participate in the Iran-Vietnam Economic Forum, which will be held in Tehran with the participation of the Vietnamese parliament speaker.
The preparation of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) and bartering deal was among the other subjects discussed between the two sides.
Zeyghami called for organizing Iran-Vietnam Joint Economic Commission in the shortest time possible to strengthen bilateral trade ties.
The Vietnamese envoy to Iran, for his part, pointed to Iran’s trade in the form of bartering and called for transferring Iran’s experiences to Vietnam.
Vietnam is vehemently interested in boosting trade with Iran, Quoc Huy added.
