Top Diplomats Discuss Plans for Omani Sultan’s Iran Visit
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Oman talked about the programs for an upcoming visit that Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said will pay to Tehran.
In a telephone conversation on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr Albusaidi discussed the relations between Tehran and Muscat.
They also talked about the programs that have been scheduled for Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said’s upcoming visit to Iran.
Extending the Iranian president’s warm greetings to Oman, Amirabdollahian highlighted the significance of meetings and contacts between the officials of the two neighbors.
Sultan Haitham’s trip to Iran, scheduled for May 28-29, will come one week after his visit to Egypt.
In Cairo, the Omani Sultan and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi discussed "overall regional and international developments," Oman's state news agency said.
Last year, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi paid a visit to Oman, during which the two countries signed a string of trade deals.
