Iran’s Non-Oil Trade with Neighbors Exceeds $3.5 Billion in One Month: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman for the trade promotion commission of the Iranian house of industry, mine and trade said that the country exported 10,471,000 tons of non-oil products, valued at $3.645, in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to April 20).

According to statistics, about seven million tons of non-oil goods, valued at 43.496 billion, were exchanged between Iran and 15 neighboring states in the first month of the current year, registering a 26 and 11.5 percent growth in weight and value respectively compared to the same period a year before.

The import and export of non-oil products from neighboring states in this period showed a 17.4 and 7.4 percent hike respectively compared to last year’s corresponding period, Spokesman for the International Relations Commission of the House of Industry, Mine and Trade Seyed Rouhollah Latifi noted.

He went on to say that the country exported 10,471,000 tons of non-oil goods, valued at $3.645 billion, from March 21 to April 20, 2023, 55 percent of which in weight had been exported to the neighboring states.

Meanwhile, 1,829,000 tons of goods, valued at $3.87 billion, were imported into the country in this period, Latifi stated.

According to the official statistics, the country’s balance of trade turned +$558 million from March 21 to April 20, indicating that exports exceeded imports in this period. 

Iran’s top export markets in this period included Iraq, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Pakistan, Afghanistan, Oman and Russia respectively, the official concluded.
