Oman Eyes Increasing Joint Investment with Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Pointing to the participation of an Omani trade and economic delegation in the 5th Export Potential Exhibition of Iran dubbed “IRAN EXPO 2023”, the Oman-based Al Roya Daily wrote that Muscat is seeking to increase the volume of its investment in a joint venture with Tehran.

The “Iran Expo 2023” is a golden opportunity for Omani companies to increase their trade relations with competent Iranian companies, it said. 

It is an opportunity to get more familiar with Iranian industries, promote exports and export activities, eye new target markets and develop trade and economic ties with the world countries, the daily added.

This exhibition is being held with the participation of over 750 Iranian firms and representatives of companies from 65 countries showcasing their latest achievements and products in the fields of home appliances, medical equipment, foodstuff and petrochemical industries.

The expo kicked off at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds on Sunday, April 7.

Twelve groups of commodities in the fields of construction, medicines, medical equipment, home appliances, leather, clothing (garment) and textile, food industry, handicrafts, agriculture, technical and engineering services, petrochemicals, mining, energy, industry and knowledge-based products are on display at this exhibition, which will run until May 10.

According to the statistics, Iran exported over 113 million Omani rials worth of products to the Sultanate of Oman in 2022 while Oman exported 207 million Omani rials worth of non-oil products to Iran in this period.
