Iran Beaten by Oman at Asian Beach Handball Championship Semis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Oman 2-0 (23-11, 22-20) at the 9th Asian Men’s Beach Handball Championship semifinals on Friday.
Iran, who started the campaign with two wins over Saudi Arabia and South Korea in Group A, but lost to Qatar, the most decorated Asian team, on Wednesday and also failed to book a place in the final after suffering a loss against Oman
Team Melli will meet Vietnam on Sunday in the bronze medal match.
Qatar and Oman, who earned their place at the 11th IHF Men’s Beach Handball World Championships, slated for June/July 2024, will lock horn in the final.
The 9th Asian Men’s & Women’s Beach Handball Championship is being held in Bali, Indonesia, from March 10 to 19.
The winning team will also qualify for the beach handball competition of the 2nd ANOC World Beach Games, which will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from August 5 to 12, 2023.
