Iran, Singapore Agree to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation on Standards
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The heads of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) and Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research vowed to expand their bilateral cooperation in the field of standards.
The Iranian and Singaporean officials met and held talks in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on Thursday on the second day of the Summit of Heads of Asia-Pacific Standard Organizations.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the need for developing cooperation and finalization of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The Singaporean side proposed defining projects of cooperation in the agreed fields, which was welcomed by ISIRI chief Mehdi Eslampanah.
The two sides agreed to define and operationalize the projects of cooperation between the two organizations in smart-building and digitalizing fields.
Exchanging technical know-how and experiences in the field of standardization and launching educational cooperation were the other issues agreed upon between the Iranian and Singaporean officials.
The meeting of Heads of the Asia-Pacific Standard Organization, a member of the International Standards Organization (ISO), wrapped up its work on Thursday, March 16.
