The Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) and the Japanese Standards Association (JSA) agreed to establish their cooperation at the joint research projects in the fields of applied standardization, Mehdi Eslampanah, the head of ISIRI said.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Asahi, the chairman of the Japanese Standard Association, on the sidelines of the Summit of Heads of the National Asia-Pacific Standard Organizations held in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
Eslampanah added that Iran and Japan are determined to boost their cooperation in the fields of applied standardization.
Turning to the existence of research capacities at ISIRI and the presence of the faculty members, he emphasized the start of the joint scientific and research activities between ISIRI and the Japanese Standards Association.
The chairman of the Japanese Standard Association, for his part, welcomed the project and stated that any kind of international activities of the Association should be approved by the central government.
After studying the joint research and training programs, he said that the necessary measures should be taken for the research interaction between the two countries with the exchange of a joint memorandum of understanding (MoU).
