US Military Base in Syria’s Deir Ez-Zur Targeted in Rocket Attack

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Rockets fired from adjacent areas hit a military complex holding US occupation forces in Syria's eastern province of Deir Ez-Zur.

Two rockets hit the base, which is located inside the Conoco gas field, on Tuesday evening, according to local sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity to Syria's official SANA news agency.

According to the source, there were no immediate reports of possible casualties or the location where the projectiles were fired from.

In recent months, similar attacks on US-run sites in Syria's oil-rich eastern regions have increased.

On June 28, numerous American personnel and allied militants from the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were wounded after a rocket attack on the US-occupied al-Omar oil field in Deir Ez-Zur, according to local sources.

Earlier that month, the US base near the al-Omar oil field had been hit in a similar attack.
