Zarif, Borrell Discuss JCPOA, Afghanistan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the European Union foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, discussed a series of issues in a phone call, including the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal and the situation in Afghanistan.
The top Iranian diplomat and the high representative of the European Union held the telephone conversation on Wednesday evening.
The two officials talked about different subjects, including issues relating to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the latest developments in Afghanistan.
Zarif also held separate telephone conversations with a number of his foreign counterparts on Wednesday.
In the contacts with Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman, and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic, talks were held about Tehran’s relations with Abu Dhabi, Zagreb, and Sarajevo.
The top Iranian diplomat has spoken with many counterparts and foreign officials in recent days about regional and international developments.
