According to Kuralenko, the silence regime, that was introduced on Saturday in parts of Syria’s Latakia province and in Damascus area, is generally holding.

"The positive results that we have achieved allowed us, in coordination with the Syrian authorities and our US partners to extend the silence regime in eastern Guta for another day – until the end of May 1. In addition, active negotiations on the introduction of a silence regime in Aleppo province are currently being held," Kuralenko said, according to Sputnik.

Russia and the United States brokered the regime of silence that would be implemented in the Damascus’ suburbs for 24 hours and in the northern Latakia province for 72 hours starting midnight of April 30.
