Toppling Al Saud to Be Ansarullah’s Strategic Aim If Aggression Continues: Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior member of Ansarullah warned Saudi Arabia of the harsh viable options that the Yemeni movement can take up if the Riyadh regime keeps slaughtering the Yemeni people, saying the Al Saud’s downfall would be Ansarullah’s strategic target in that case.
“If the Saudis insist on continuing the war, destruction and killing in Yemen, then our basic goal will be overthrowing the Al Saud, which is a strategic goal,” Abdulrahman Mokhtar, Ansarullah’s representative in the Yemeni national talks, told Tasnim.
The Yemeni figure noted, however, that the strategic objective may take years to be achieved.
If the Saudi relentless attacks oblige the Ansarullah movement to go for the option of toppling the Riyadh regime, the Yemeni forces will take the opportunity of geographical position and advance deep into Saudi Arabia’s soil to target its government, Mokhtar explained.
Getting into Saudi Arabia is a real possibility, he added, saying the Ansarullah forces have already carried out such operations.
Mokhtar said the Ansarullah forces have at the present time entered 15 kilometers deep into Saudi Arabia’s territory in an area 220 kilometers wide and taken control of the bases that Saudis employed to shell the Yemeni province of Sa’ada.
He further said that Ansarullah has “50,000 reserved fighters” who have not been employed for any military action yet, saying they will be called up for a necessary ground attack against Saudi Arabia.
Since March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies, including the UAE, have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
According to Yemeni health ministry, the death toll from the Saudi-led war so far has reached more than 6,000 people, including hundreds of women and children.
