Leader Urges Vigilance on Enemy’s Cultural Onslaught
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei cautioned against enemies' cultural and political plots against Iran, including ploys aimed at impairing the religious beliefs and absorbing the talented young generation.
“Weakening the (Iranian people’s) religious and political beliefs and attempts to absorb active and influential young people at different levels are among the plans of the enemy’s political and cultural army,” the Leader said in a meeting with members of a committee tasked with holding a congress to commemorate the country's martyrs.
Imam Khamenei noted that the promotion of Islamic concepts, such as martyrdom, is among the major tactics to thwart the enemy’s plots.
The Leader also stressed the need for the employment of artistic and cultural tools to propagate the basic Islamic concepts, calling on the intellectuals and artists to produce “effective products”.
Imam Khamenei has on various occasions called for wise and calculated plans to tackle the enemy’s cultural onslaught.
Back in September, the Leader appointed new members to the Supreme Council of Virtual Space, and outlined the primary policies that members of the council should implement during their 4-year tenure.
In a decree, Ayatollah Khamenei said a major objective that the Supreme Council of Virtual Space should pursue is promoting the Islamic lifestyle and values, countering cultural and social damages and effectively fighting against the cultural onslaught.
