Iran, Venezuela Share Views against Bullying Policies: Zarif

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined the common stances of Tehran and Caracas against the coercive policies.

"Tehran and Caracas have common policies in the face of bullying and coercive approaches," Zarif said Monday in a joint press conference with his Venezuelan counterpart in Tehran.

The top Iranian diplomat then roundly condemned Washington’s recent move to declare Venezuela a national security threat.

He also praised the Venezuelan nation for standing up against foreign threats just as “the Iranian nation’s resistance to foreign threats led to their failure”.

Zarif further noted that he conferred with the visiting Venezuelan minister on a range of issues, including the oil policies that the two crude producers can adopt.

“Coordination among us, Venezuela and other OPEC members is important for the protection and stability of the oil market,” he explained.

As two major countries that oppose the US imperialism, Iran and Venezuela enjoy high level of diplomatic ties as strategic allies.

Trade between Venezuela and Iran have grown steadily during the recent years and the two countries have launched joint ventures in a number of sectors, including energy, agriculture, housing, and infrastructure.
