In his visit to the Persian Gulf state, Amir Abdollahian is due to meet UAE officials and discuss bilateral ties with them.
Last week, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates' Affairs Hassan Qashqavi paid a visit to Abu Dhabi to attend Iran-UAE Joint Consular Cooperation Commission.
During his visit, Qashqavi expressed Iran’s resolve to develop relations with the UAE in all areas, especially in consular cooperation, and underlined the need for mutual cooperation and consultation on regional issues.
The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the conclusion of the meeting.
The 17-clause document includes measures to simplify visa formalities, settle the residence problems of the two countries’ nationals, and enhance judicial ties on anti-narcotics and cooperation between the coast guards.
