Iran Nuclear Negotiators Buoyed Up by Leader’s Trust

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian deputy foreign minister praised Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution for his unwavering support for the team of nuclear negotiators, and assured the nation that diplomats engaged in talks with world powers will not retreat from Iran’s nuclear rights.

“The Leader’s trust is the greatest backing and a source of assurance for us. I assure His Excellency and the whole Iranian nation that we will not back away from any of the nuclear rights,” Iran’s deputy foreign minister and a top nuclear negotiator, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, said in a Tuesday message on his Twitter account.

He made the comments after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Monday lent his support to the country’s nuclear negotiators.

“We trust in our country’s negotiating team and are sure that they will refuse consent for violation of the rights of the country and nation and of the Iranian nation’s dignity, and will not let this happen either,” Imam Khamenei stressed.

The Leader also underscored that Iran’s research and development activities in the nuclear field is an issue that must be observed in the course of negotiations.

The other side has put an emphasis on the fate of those Iranian nuclear facilities that are impossible for the enemy to target, the Leader pointed out, and added, “As regards the Fordo facilities, they say it should be closed because such facilities are not accessible and cannot be damaged, while such comment is ludicrous.”

Since July 2, delegates from Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) have launched a fresh round of high-profile talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna in a bid to hammer out a comprehensive deal on Tehran’s nuclear case.

The long-awaited accord is aimed at resolving the decade-long standoff on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
