Addressing the graduation ceremony of military cadets on Monday, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said the Zionist regime, aided by the US, had sought to escape international disgrace and internal turmoil by attacking Iran, but their efforts ended in a crushing defeat, forcing them to request a ceasefire.
Highlighting the evolving nature of conflicts, the top commander stated that Iran is now engaged in a full-scale cognitive war —an effort by adversaries to influence mental frameworks, perceptions, beliefs, and public morale.
“What they could not achieve through force and military operations, they now pursue through distortion, rumors, psychological operations, and fabricated narratives,” he warned.
The commander stressed that the enemies aim to undermine national cohesion and weaken the Iranian nation’s stronghold of resistance, adding that the Armed Forces must maintain the highest levels of readiness and continually enhance their capabilities.
Major General Mousavi emphasized that although Iran’s adversaries are inherently aggressive, they are unlikely to attempt another strike after their failure in the war of aggression in June, if they act sensibly.
“We are closely monitoring their movements. We are not warmongers, but we are fully prepared. We understand the rules of ending hostilities and currently do not intend to take action, but our measures this time will be entirely different,” the general said.
