Oman’s charge d’affaires in Tehran was invited on Sunday by the director of the second department of the Persian Gulf Affairs of the Iranian Foreign Ministry to convey Tehran’s formal objection to the allegations.
The Iranian diplomat expressed strong dissatisfaction with the negative media atmosphere created around Iranian bottled water and called for immediate clarification of the facts.
He emphasized that it was inappropriate to associate a criminal incident with a product imported from Iran, especially when investigations have shown that the case was a family-related crime driven by revenge motives and bore no connection to any Iranian product.
The Omani charge d’affaires, while reaffirming the importance of protecting the deep-rooted and amicable relations between Iran and Oman, assured that he would urgently report Iran’s concerns to the relevant authorities in his country.
Authentic information confirms that the deaths of an Omani national and the family’s foreign worker on October 1 were the result of a criminal act, unrelated to any Iranian mineral water imports.
