Over 300 Civilian Vehicles Destroyed in Massive Israeli Strike in Southern Lebanon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli regime carried out a new wave of airstrikes on southern Lebanon, targeting civilian heavy machinery yards and wiping out more than 300 vehicles in a deliberate act of aggression and economic sabotage, as Lebanese officials put it.

The Israeli regime’s warplanes on Saturday bombed six heavy machinery yards along the Al-Msayleh road in southern Lebanon.

According to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency, at least one Syrian worker was killed, while another Syrian and six Lebanese civilians, including two women, were wounded.

The strikes obliterated more than 300 vehicles—bulldozers, excavators, and trucks—inflicting losses estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars.

Buildings, tents, and parked cars in the area were reduced to rubble as fires engulfed the scene.

“The exhibition sites that were completely destroyed are considered among the largest and most prominent heavy machinery exhibition sites in Lebanon,” the agency reported.

The Al-Msayleh road was closed after sustaining severe damage from the bombardment.

In a statement, the Israeli regime claimed it had struck “Hezbollah’s infrastructure” and destroyed “engineering equipment used to rebuild” the group’s positions.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun denounced the raid as “a blatant act of aggression.”

“The seriousness of this assault lies in the fact that it comes after the ceasefire agreement in Gaza,” Aoun said, warning that the Israeli regime appeared to be seeking to expand the conflict into Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Israeli drones were seen hovering over Beirut and its southern suburbs since early Saturday, intensifying public anger and fear of renewed escalation.

A ceasefire had been reached in November 2024 following a year of cross-border clashes between Hezbollah resistance forces and the Israeli regime that began in October 2023.

By September 2024, those confrontations had evolved into a full-scale offensive that left more than 4,000 dead and around 17,000 wounded.

Under the truce terms, the Israeli regime was required to withdraw completely from southern Lebanon by January 2025.

However, it has continued to occupy several border outposts, maintaining an illegal military presence despite international condemnation.
