In the statement, released on Thursday, the Foreign Ministry recalled its previous announcement on October 6 regarding the ending of the genocide in Gaza, emphasizing that Iran has always supported any action or initiative that ensures the cessation of the genocidal war, the withdrawal of occupying Israeli forces, the delivery of humanitarian aid, the release of Palestinian prisoners, and the realization of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
Iran, as a supporter of the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian people in their pursuit of the right to self-determination, has, over the past two years, utilized all of its diplomatic capacities —particularly at the regional level, within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and at the United Nations— to pressure the Israeli regime and its supporters to halt the genocide and withdraw the occupying forces from Gaza, the statement said.
The Foreign Ministry also paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the Palestinian resistance and stressed the responsibility of the international community to prevent the Israeli regime from violating any agreements. It also called on all parties to remain vigilant against the deceit and bad-faith actions of the Zionist regime.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that ending the crimes and genocide in Gaza does not relieve governments and competent international institutions of their legal, humanitarian, and ethical duties to pursue justice, the statement underlined, saying that would include identifying and prosecuting those responsible for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, in order to put an end to decades of impunity enjoyed by the Zionist regime.
