Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Tehran on Sunday, Araqchi said all countries are aware of Iran’s rightful stance and the way Western powers created the current situation.
While Iran consistently sought fair and balanced solutions, it was the Western states that rejected them due to their excessive demands, he said.
Commenting on the recent talks in New York, Araqchi reiterated that diplomacy remains the only path forward. “For years they threatened military action and used the snapback mechanism, but just as war was not a solution, snapback also proved ineffective. The three European countries thought they held leverage with snapback, but its use resolved nothing,” he said.
Araqchi emphasized that diplomacy does not end, but the parties involved may change. “The three European countries have certainly diminished their role and lost their justification for negotiations. In any future talks, they will play a much smaller part,” he stated.
Araqchi also reaffirmed Iran’s goodwill and readiness for solutions, saying, “Iran has shown in practice that it only seeks to secure its rights, while remaining prepared for any negotiated outcome.”
