Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and PGCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi held a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Saturday.
The two officials discussed relations between Iran and the PGCC member states, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation across all fields to strengthen mutual trust and understanding. They also stressed the need to focus on shared interests and common regional challenges.
Araqchi reiterated Iran’s principled policy of good-neighborliness and highlighted Tehran’s readiness to utilize all capacities to deepen ties with neighboring countries.
He also warned of the serious threats posed by the Israeli regime’s warmongering and regional domination, underlining the importance of joint regional efforts to halt the genocide in Gaza and counter Israeli aggression.
Al-Budaiwi, for his part, expressed satisfaction with ongoing consultations between the PGCC and Iran, describing closer ties with Tehran as a key factor in maintaining regional security and stability.
He also voiced deep concern over the situation in Palestine and stressed the shared responsibility of the international community to stop crimes and genocide in the occupied territories.
