Azmoon Named Head Coach of Persepolis Women’s Football Team
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Maryam Azmoon has been appointed as the head coach of Persepolis’ women’s football team, the club announced on Wednesday.
The 52-year-old coach brings extensive experience to her new role, having served in Iran’s women’s football team for many years. She has led the national team, Team Melli, in two separate stints since 2016.
Additionally, Azmoon has experience coaching abroad, having served as the head coach of Kuwait’s women’s football team.
She succeeds Shadi Rezaei in this position.
Persepolis secured its place in the 2025-26 Kowsar Women’s Football League in February.
