Israel Kills 26 People in Overnight Gaza Air Raids
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least 26 Palestinians have been killed in intense overnight air attacks carried out by the Israeli regime across Gaza, with the majority of the killings reported in Khan Younis, Gaza City and Jabalia.
The worst of the attacks happened overnight in Khan Younis, where a school was targeted in an Israeli air attack, killing at least 18 people, Al Jazeera reported.
The school was housing displaced families, many newly displaced from eastern Khan Younis. This highlights the illusion of safe zones, security zones, or even shelters.
There are more attack victims in the northern part of the Strip –both in Jabalia and Gaza City.
In southwest Gaza City, three people –a man and his children– were killed in a drone attack as they were leaving the house they were sheltering in. Two other people in Jabalia were struck by a drone.
Many people who have been brought to hospitals have had to wait a long time for doctors to treat them, given how overcrowded and lacking in supplies the facilities are.
Earlier, the Israeli regime’s military warned starving Palestinians in Gaza against approaching roads to the US-backed aid distribution sites run by the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which will be closed for a whole day for “renovation, reorganization and efficiency improvement work”.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council is set to vote on a resolution calling for a ceasefire and humanitarian access to Gaza, a measure expected to be vetoed by the United States.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 54,510 Palestinians and wounded 124,901, according to the Health Ministry.
