Kerman Bazaar: One of Iran’s Largest Shopping Centers

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Bazaar of Kerman belongs to 8th century A.H. to First Pahlavi Era and it is located between Tohid and Shohada squares in Kerman, a city in southern Iran.

This bazaar is the longest series of shops in Iran. It is composed of various sections including Arg Bazaar, Ganj Ali Khan Bazaar, Ekhtiyari Bazaar, Vakil Bazaar, Sardar Bazaar, Mozaffari Bazaar, Ghal'eh Mahmoud Bazaar, Meydan Ghal'eh Bazaar, Ghadamgah Bazaar, Sardar Bazaar, Attari Bazaar, Mesgari Bazaar, Zargari Bazaar and Kaffash-ha Bazaar.

The most important location in the Bazaar of Kerman is Ganj Ali Khan Charsoq that has been regarded as the major and most crowded location in Kerman in the past. This charsoq is part of the Ganj Ali Khan Complex.

The interior of the Ganj Ali Khan Charsooq entails plasterwork as well as oil paintings that have maintained their beauty after 400 years. The Bazaar of Kerman has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
