AEOI Chief Highlights Iran’s Progress in Peaceful Nuclear Technology
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami highlighted the progress in the country’s peaceful nuclear program and the use of nuclear technology in medical fields.
Speaking at a medical university in Alborz Province, west of Tehran, on Tuesday, Eslami said that in addition to power plants and electricity generation, nuclear technology is influential in the medical and industrial fields, especially in the field of radiotherapy, the production of radiopharmaceuticals and industrial measuring instruments.
Currently, more than 70 types of radiopharmaceuticals are produced in Iran and sent to 230 health centers, he noted.
Eslami said the nuclear knowledge that the Iranian people have is not negotiable, adding that the Iranian nation has spent years to acquire this knowledge.
Iran will continue its path of progress with greater speed, and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, as a symbol of innovation, will play a role in the country’s health, environment and development, he went on to say.
“The enemies used all their power to stop our progress, but today they openly admit that Iran has acquired indigenous technology and we own the technology,” he said.
