TEHRAN (Tasnim) – According to statistics released by the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, the country’s yearly exports to the Americas have significantly increased.
The director general of the TPO’s department of Europe and Americas announced that Iran’s exports to the Americas in the previous Persian year, which ended on March 20, have more than quadrupled compared to a year earlier.
Ahmad Firouzi said the export of Iranian commodities to the Americas in the Iranian year 1403 rose by 450 percent in comparison with 1402.
As an example, Iran’s official exports to Brazil rose by 850 percent in the previous Persian year, he said.
He noted that the TPO has held expert panel meetings to ease the Iranian business people’s access to new markets in the Americas, including in Canada and Mexico.
The official also highlighted the Iranian administration’s efforts to sign trade agreements with more countries, adding that the finalization of a long-awaited free trade agreement with Venezuela is only one step away.
The TPO has granted permission for the establishment of Iranian trade centers in Serbia, Oman, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, he noted, adding that the second commercial attaché of Iran in Europe has been set up in Hungary.
