Iran, Jordan Discuss Regional Security Concerns Amid Israeli Aggressions

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi held a phone conversation to discuss regional developments, focusing on the escalating Israeli tensions in Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen.

In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Araqchi spoke with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi to exchange views on regional issues.

During the call, Araqchi voiced deep concern over the blatant violations of ceasefire agreements in Gaza and Lebanon by Israel. He strongly condemned the extensive attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, denouncing the killing of civilians.

Araqchi emphasized the urgent need for international and Islamic countries to take immediate action to halt Israeli aggression and prevent further instability and threats to regional peace.

He also condemned the continued US military operations in Yemen, warning of the rising tensions and the risk of wider conflict. Araqchi called for increased regional cooperation to counter the dangerous conspiracies against Islamic nations.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, in turn, expressed grave concern over Israel’s military strikes against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. He stressed the importance of coordinated international and regional efforts to pressure Israel into ceasing its attacks and preventing further deterioration of security across the region.

Israel’s relentless bombardment of Gaza continued on Monday with at least 16 Palestinians killed in attacks across the Strip since the early hours.

The renewed assault comes hours after Israeli forces bombed the Nasser Hospital in Gaza, killing at least two people, including Hamas leader Ismail Barhoum.

Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 50,021 Palestinians have been confirmed dead and 113,274 wounded in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza. Gaza’s Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of Palestinians missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
