Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi and his Emirati counterpart Lana Nasibah headed the delegations of the two countries.

They discussed various aspects of bilateral relations, including political and economic matters.

They also held talks about regional and international issues.

Referring to Tehran’s policy of expanding relations with the neighboring countries, Takht Ravanchi said Iran is ready to strengthen cooperation between the two countries based on mutual interests.

He stressed the importance of the mechanism of the joint committee for political consultations and its role in helping strengthen coordination with the UAE to advance bilateral ties and exchange views on the regional and international developments.

Takht Ravanchi expressed hope that both sides would accelerate the implementation of bilateral agreements and explore new areas of cooperation by holding regular meetings.

Outlining Iran's position on regional and international developments, the Iranian deputy foreign minister underscored the need for unity and solidarity among the Islamic countries regarding the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Palestine and its destabilizing actions in the region.

He added that the upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be a good opportunity to take a unified position against the dangerous Zionist-US plots for genocide and forced relocation of people of Gaza.

UAE Deputy Foreign Minister Lana Nasibah, for her part, emphasized the resolve of the high-ranking officials of the UAE and their special efforts to strengthen and comprehensively expand the relations with Iran.

She expressed hope that Iran and the UAE will be able to follow up on the implementation of the agreements with better coordination through exchanges of views within the framework of the joint political consultations.

Regarding the developments in Palestine, the Emirati diplomat rejected any plan for the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
