Decisions Made in Response to EU’s New Sanctions on Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran has made the necessary arrangements to react to the fresh sanctions imposed by the European Union and the UK, which have targeted the Iranian shipping lines, a diplomat said.
Majid Nili, the director of the Western Europe Department at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, announced on Tuesday that a meeting has been held in the morning in the presence of Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to review the latest developments in the relations between Iran and the EU.
He said the necessary arrangements have been made for the manner of Iran’s reaction to the fresh sanctions imposed by the EU and the UK against a number of Iranian individuals and entities, which he slammed as an illegal and unjustifiable measure in violation of the international law.
Nili noted that the details of Iran’s decisions will be made public soon.
On Monday, the UK and the EU imposed sanctions on a number of Iranian individuals and entities, including the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL), on the bogus charge of shipping ballistic missiles to Russia for the war in Ukraine.
