Zionists in Persistent Panic, IRGC Says after Martyrdom of Afif

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) condemned the Israeli assassination of Hezbollah’s spokesman Mohammad Afif as an attack on the truth and transparency, saying the Zionists will be gripped by constant fear of action by the Lebanese resistance forces.

In a statement released on Monday, the IRGC paid tribute to Mohammad Afif who was martyred in an Israeli strike on a building in central Beirut on Sunday.

It said Afif had played “wise and honorable roles” against the Zionist regime by displaying the resistance combatants’ faith and steely resolve against the Israeli enemy and the ill-wishers of the Lebanese nation.

Denouncing the Israeli assassination of Afif as an attack against the truth and transparency, the IRGC said his martyrdom will not only fail to undermine the determination of Hezbollah, but also deepen the Lebanese resistance forces’ hatred of the Israeli enemy and perpetuate the horror and panic that prevails among the Zionists.

Afif managed Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television station for several years before taking over as the top media relations officer for the resistance group.

His martyrdom is the latest in a string of assassinations of top Hezbollah leaders, including its chief Hassan Nasrallah, since the Israeli regime dramatically intensified its attacks across Lebanon in late September after one year of fire exchanges along the border.
