President Warns of Iran’s Decisive Response to Any Israeli Attack
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned the Zionist regime that the mistake of committing an act of aggression against Iran will trigger a decisive and unimaginable response from Tehran.
Pezeshkian made the comments in a meeting with Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, on Wednesday.
"If the Zionist regime makes a mistake and takes action against the Islamic Republic of Iran, it will receive a decisive and unbelievable response”, he said, the president’s official website reported.
“We are by no means willing to escalate conflict and tension in the region, and welcome any action towards peace and tranquility. However, the actions of the Zionist regime are exactly aimed at igniting the entire region, therefore, it is necessary for other countries, especially Western states, to control this aggressive regime,” Pezeshkian stated.
The president noted that he entered Iran’s presidential race on a campaign promise of national reconciliation and boosting cooperation with the world.
However, he added, the Zionist regime disrupted efforts to achieve those goals since his inaugural day when it assassinated Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, who was as an official guest of Iran.
Pezeshkian said Iran showed restraint in the face of the terrorist crimes of the Zionist regime in the hope of establishing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. But, he added, the continuation of the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza and spreading them to Lebanon compelled Iran to respond to the regime’s acts of aggression which he said are taking place under the support of Western states.
He further emphasized the importance of the BRICS group in reforming unequal regional and international mechanisms.
Ahmed, for his part, said that Iran is a strong and independent country which is well recognized among the Ethiopian people, who have a positive image of the ties between the two nations.
He said that Ethiopia monitors the developments in the West Asia region with concern.
The prime minister of Ethiopia also noted that the current global and regional structures are unequal, while institutions like BRICS can play an effective role in reforming and addressing these inequalities.
