Iran Criticizes US, Germany for Complicity in Israeli War Crimes
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson slammed the United States and Germany for being the main defenders of Israel's war crimes and the largest suppliers of weapons.
In a post on his X account on Thursday marking the first anniversary of a deadly Israeli airstrike on a Gaza hospital, Esmaeil Baqaei condemned the US and Germany for being the main apologists for Israel’s crimes and its primary suppliers of lethal weapons.
Today marks the first anniversary of the Israeli airstrike on Mamdani Hospital, also known as Ahli Arab Hospital, in the Gaza Strip.
On October 17, 2023, Israel carried out an airstrike on the hospital, killing more than 500 Palestinians, including injured women and children, many of whom were seeking shelter from earlier bombings in the besieged territory.
“The people of Palestine, region and beyond will not forget that #US and #Germany, as the main apologists of Israeli crimes, are the regime’s biggest supplier of lethal weapons as well,” Baqaei stated.
He added that cruelty has no limits "if accompanied with ideological narcissism and impunity."
Baqaei stressed that innocent civilians in Gaza were "brutally slaughtered" during the attack, calling it one of Israel's war crimes in Gaza as part of its broader war, which has faced "unanimous global condemnation."
He also held the US and several European nations responsible for enabling Israel's continued carnage in Gaza and the wider Palestinian territories by providing "full impunity" to Tel Aviv.
“Complicity in atrocity is as repulsive as the actual atrocity,” Baqaei emphasized.
The Israeli genocidal war in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of 42,438 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children.
Meanwhile, the regime has killed over 2,300 people and injured nearly 11,000 in Lebanon since October 8, 2023, according to Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry.
