Killings, Destruction Continue on Large Scale in Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli genocidal attacks have intensified across the Gaza Strip, with deadly strikes hitting evacuation centers and residential areas, causing widespread destruction and loss of life.
A recent strike targeted an evacuation center at a school, one of many private and UNRWA schools serving as shelters for displaced families across the Strip.
These schools, once considered safe havens, are now being hit by Israeli forces, undermining the sense of security for those seeking refuge after their homes were destroyed in previous attacks.
So far this month, Israel has bombed nine shelter schools, with the latest incident marking the fourth such strike in less than a week.
These shelters provide essential services such as food and basic supplies, which have become increasingly scarce in Gaza.
The latest attack occurred in western Beit Lahiya, where four people were confirmed dead. The school was housing up to 300 families, and the death toll is expected to rise as many were critically injured.
According to the Wafa news agency, a civilian was killed, and others were wounded in Beit Lahiya during an Israeli strike, which targeted multiple areas within the town.
In separate incidents, Israeli airstrikes killed three Palestinians in the northern and central parts of Gaza.
Medical sources reported that two people died in an air raid near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia, while another individual was killed in a drone strike in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
Kamal Adwan Hospital, which is already stretched to capacity, is struggling to cope with the influx of casualties.
Israeli naval forces also launched attacks, shelling residential homes in the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City, Wafa reported.
A young Palestinian man was killed, and several others were injured in another Israeli attack in the Al-Alami area of the Jabalia refugee camp.
In the central area of Gaza, a father of six was killed inside his home early in the morning. His surviving family members were rushed to the hospital, where the courtyard has become a grim gathering place for families mourning their loved ones.
Even in Khan Younis, where residents attempt to return to their homes, the Israeli army continues its bombardments, leaving the town’s infrastructure in ruins.
The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that since last year, at least 41,595 people have been killed, and 96,251 have been wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza.
