Five Days of Mourning Declared in Iran following Hezbollah Chief’s Martyrdom

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will observe five days of national mourning following the martyrdom of the secretary general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement.

Politics

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei declared five days of mourning after Hezbollah confirmed the martyrdom of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah.

The resistance movement said in a statement on Saturday that Nasrallah was martyred in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a number of residential buildings in Beirut’s densely populated southern suburb of Dahiyeh.

The latest wave of attacks on Beirut leveled multiple residential buildings in the densely populated southern suburb of Lebanon’s capital on Friday, with Israel using “bunker-busting” bombs.

At least six people were killed and 91 others were wounded in the attacks, according to Lebanese health authorities, with the toll expected to rise much higher.
