Saudi Arabia Censures Israeli Attack on Gaza School

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the Israeli military's airstrike on a school in Gaza City, denouncing it as part of a broader pattern of violence against civilians in the enclave.

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Saturday, condemning the recent Israeli airstrike on Gaza City’s al-Tabin school in the "strongest terms."

The ministry stressed the need to halt the "mass massacres" in the region, adding that Gaza is currently enduring an "unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe" due to ongoing violations of international law.

The Israeli military claimed that the strike, which involved three air raids on the school, targeted Hamas operatives allegedly using both the school and a nearby mosque as cover. The military said that it employs precise munitions to minimize civilian casualties and asserted that the attack was conducted based on intelligence gathered in coordination with the Shin Bet, Israel's internal security service.

However, local medics and Civil Defense workers present a starkly different account, reporting widespread devastation and numerous casualties. They described scenes of chaos as they retrieved the remains of Palestinians killed in the strikes.

An Israeli military spokesperson, speaking in English, denied reports that more than 100 Palestinians had been killed.

The Health Ministry in Gaza reported that since October 7, at least 39,790 people have been killed and 91,702 wounded in the Israeli genocidal war. The latest figures include 40 Palestinians killed and 140 wounded in the most recent 24-hour period.
