The Iran-Brazil Business Forum was held with the participation of Chairman of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh, Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, the vice-president and minister of development, industry, trade and services of Brazil and a number of the economic activists of the two countries.

Hassanzadeh said that Iran is interested in developing trade and economic ties with friendly and neighboring states and that the government is trying to remove the trade barriers facing the economic activists of the two countries.

Iran and Brazil enjoy high capacities to broaden their ties, especially in the fields of trade and economy, the chairman of the ICCIMA emphasized.

He stated that the lack of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between the two countries is the most important barrier to the development of economic relations.

He expressed hope that the barriers facing the economic ties between the two countries will be removed in the new Iranian administration's term.

The two sides have high potential to work together in the fields of medical and pharmaceutical productions, renewable energies, oil, gas, petrochemical mineral, automotive industries, food and agricultural industries, and technical and engineering services, Hassanzadeh added.
