Israeli Forces Kill Two Palestinians in West Bank’s Tubas Raid
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli forces have confirmed the deaths of two individuals in Tubas, West Bank, as reported by the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
According to the PRCS, Israeli forces first shot and killed a man in Tubas' Far’a camp earlier on Friday before targeting a second individual traveling in his car within the city limits. The incident also left at least three others wounded, one of them severely.
Moreover, an ambulance operated by PRCS responding to the casualties in the camp became a target of Israeli fire, resulting in the assault and arrest of a volunteer paramedic.
During the raid, Israeli military deployed snipers at the camp's entrance and conducted aerial surveillance using reconnaissance drones, as documented by the Palestinian news agency.
In the aftermath of the Tubas incident, Israeli military operations extended to various areas across the West Bank, including the towns of Idhna, Tulkarem, Qalqilya, al-Fandaqumiya, Deir Istiya, and Sebastia. These raids underscore the widespread nature of Israeli military activity throughout the occupied territories.
The fatal encounter in Tubas involved Muhammad Rasoul, who, according to local sources, was the leader of the Tubas Battalion, a group actively engaged in resistance against Israeli forces. He is also the son of Omar Daraghmeh, a prominent figure associated with Gaza’s Hamas resistance movement in the occupied West Bank, whose body remains withheld by Israeli authorities since his death six months ago.
Israel has seized approximately 1,000 hectares of land in the West Bank since the onset of its war with Gaza in October. According to Israel's Haaretz newspaper, approximately 1,000 hectares (2,470 acres) of land have been declared state territory, with seizures in 2024 surpassing historical records. This includes an 800-hectare (1,977-acre) zone near the border with Jordan, marking the largest single land seizure in Israeli history.
The casualties in Tubas contribute to a grim tally, with 462 Palestinians killed in the West Bank since the conflict began, including 117 children and 14 prisoners. Israeli forces have also inflicted injuries on over 4,750 Palestinians and detained at least 8,165 individuals during the same period.
