During the meeting, the steps taken by the two sides in the oil and gas industries and bilateral cooperation in the fields of roads, housing, standards, free trade zones, etc. were reviewed.

Iran’s oil minister emphasized the cooperation between Iran and Russia in the oil and gas sectors and added that expert-level talks will be held by the ranking officials of the two countries to develop ties in these fields.

Tehran and Moscow have high potential to enhance their bilateral ties in all economic fields, he said, noting that constructive bilateral talks were recently held with the participation of Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber.

He expressed hope that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries will be further expanded.

Russia’s deputy prime minister, for his part, pointed to his meeting with Mokhber and noted that the Iranian and Russian presidents emphasized paying due attention to the energy sector as the key factor for boosting bilateral cooperation during a visit to Moscow by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in December 2023.

He pointed to the active cooperation of Iran and Russia in the OPEC+ alliance and added that the two countries have established very close cooperation in the alliance.
