Jalil Eslami pointed to the measures taken in the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi to promote the trade and economic sectors and added that the realization of the general policies of sea-based development requires increasing synergy among all responsible organizations.

Developing and completing port and maritime infrastructures, boosting the maritime fleet in the Caspian Sea, strengthening the transportation network in the northern part of the country, implementing maritime and port-related projects and supporting knowledge-based companies as well as renovating the maritime passenger fleets are among those measures, he said.

The organization has launched the program of sea-based development with the aim of promoting maritime security, operating four inspection vessels and two hyper-suction dredgers at the ports, Eslami stated.

Following the policies taken in the current administration, the capacity of loading and unloading operation of cargoes at ports of the country has increased from 240 million tons over the past two years to more than 280 million tons in the current year, he added.
