Electric Buses, Motorcycles High Priorities in Iran: Industry Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s minister of industry, mine and trade said his organization has made the electrification of buses and motorcycles a priority, details of which have been followed up strictly by the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi.
Highlighting the significance of the environmental impacts of plans to produce electric vehicles in Iran, Abbas Aliabadi said electrifying the public buses and motorcycles have gotten top priority.
Suitable infrastructures need to be provided for fast charging of the electric vehicles as one of the requirements of the electrification of the transportation system, the minister said on the sidelines of the inauguration of MAPNA Electric Cars, Power Control and Construction Engineering Company in Alborz Province on Friday.
He noted that the electrification of the public transportation fleet will play an important role in reducing pollution in large cities of Iran.
MAPNA is a group of Iranian companies involved in development and execution of thermal and renewable power plants, oil and gas, railway transportation and other industrial projects.
