Iran Produces 13 Million Tons of Steel Products in 7 Months: ISPA
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s major steel producing companies produced 13 million tons of steel products in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, showing a two percent growth compared to the same period last year.
Iran’s major steel production companies produced 18,497,000 tons of semi-finished steel products from March 21 to October 22, 2023, showing a 0.7 percent growth compared to the same period of last year, the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) reported.
The companies produced 851,000 tons of iron beam, over 6 million tons of rebar, and also 535,000 tons of other iron sections in the first seven months of the current year, it said.
Over five million tons of warm sheet, more than one million tons of cold sheet and also over one million tons of coated sheet were produced in this reported period, the association added.
Also, 22,112,000 tons of sponge iron were produced from March 21 to October 22, 2023, showing a 5.4 percent hike compared to last year’s corresponding period.
Iran’s steel production companies produced more than 20 million tons of sponge iron from March 21 to October 22, 2022.
