Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Mehdi Zeyghami made announced this on Saturday, adding that $53 billion of products were exported from the country in 2022, registering a new record.
He further said that promoting trade with various countries, especially neighboring and regional states, has been a priority for the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi.
The deputy minister of industry also pointed out that the development of trade exchanges with South American, Asian and African countries has been prioritized at the organization.
In this respect, Iran’s membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS group of emerging economies promises a bright future for promoting trade and economic activities, he emphasized.
Issuing licenses for participating in 100 foreign exhibitions, holding various domestic exhibitions, organizing Trade Promotion Conference with West African countries and also the “IRAN EXPO” are among the measures taken by the organization.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the deputy minister of industry pointed to the dispatching of commercial attaché overseas and added that the number of commercial envoys of the country will hit 45 by the end of the next Iranian calendar year (to end March 20, 2025).
