Majid Chegeni pointed to the considerable gas export of the country in the current administration and stated that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exported from the country has witnessed a 22 percent rise this year.
Turkey also has shown interest in importing Iranian gas and talks are also underway for gas exports to the Sultanate of Oman, revival of a contract concluded with Pakistan and trade of gas with Russia, he stated.
According to him, Iran has managed to increase gas swap volume with neighboring countries from 4.5 million to 8 million cubic meters.
The deputy oil minister referred to the extension and increase of Iran’s gas exports to Armenia and added that Iran’s gas exports to Armenia are carried out within the framework of an energy bartering deal between the two countries.
He also said as many as 5,297 villages have been connected to the nationwide gas grid in the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi, which took office in August 2021.
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) also said that a huge investment has been made in various sectors of the gas industry.
