73 Million Tons of Goods Loaded, Unloaded in Iranian Ports in 4 Months: PMO
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) on Wednesday said 73 million tons of goods have been loaded and unloaded at southern and northern ports of the country in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2023).
According to the PMO statistics, more than 73.26 million tons of various types of goods were loaded and unloaded at ports in the country from March 21 to June 22, 2023.
The organization put the total weight of the oil and non-oil commodities unloaded at the Iranian ports at more than 24.32 million tons.
In this period, more than 25.962 million tons of oil and 23.31 million tons of non-oil goods were loaded at the southern and northern Iranian ports, it said.
The report put the total oil and non-oil goods loaded at the Iranian ports at more than 48.993 million tons, showing a nine percent growth compared to the same period last year.
The loading and unloading in the containerized operation sector stood at 871,132 TEU, showing a three percent hike compared to last year’s corresponding period.
