During a visit to Iran for participating in the meeting of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that the Republic of Azerbaijan is interested in boosting trade and economic ties with Iran.

During the meeting, the heads of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Cooperation Commissions discussed bilateral ties and issues of mutual interest.

Appreciating Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash for his unflinching efforts to expand relations between the two countries, Mustafayev said, “We expect that officials of the two countries will reach an agreement for boosting ties in various economic fields.”

The Republic of Azerbaijan believes in developing constant and consecutive cooperation with the Islamic Republic, he emphasized.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Azeri deputy prime minister stressed the firm determination of the two countries for the completion of semi-finished projects.

He put the current number of Iranian firms in Azerbaijan at 2,452 and added that completion of the projects, including a shared border bridge, customs office and railway, etc. will greatly help boost bilateral ties.
