Turkey imported more than 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas from the Islamic Republic in this period.
According to the latest statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), the country’s trade exchanges with Iran from January to March reached $1.379 billion.
The trade value exchanged between Iran and Turkey in this period has declined 14 percent as compared to a year earlier.
The two countries had exchanged $1.619 billion worth of products in January, February and March of 2022.
In the first three months of 2023, Turkey exported $702 million worth of products to Iran, showing a two percent growth as compared to last year’s corresponding period.
It had exported over $687 million worth of products from January to the end of March 2022.
Also, the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) reported that Iran exported 1.567 million cubic meters of gas from Iran in this period.
Given the above issue, Iran’s export of gas to Turkey registered a 17 percent decline as compared to the same period last year.
Iran had exported over 1.891 billion cubic meters of gas to neighboring Turkey from January to March 2022.
