Iran’s SAIPA to Export 45K Cars to Russia in June

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s second largest automaker, SAIPA, in a three-year contract inked with the Russian Federation, will export 45,000 types of cars to this country and Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO), as leading carmaker in the country, is finalizing the export stages.

It is scheduled that SAIPA will start exporting its cars to this lucrative market in Russia as of June of the current year.

Accordingly, SAIPA will deliver 45,000 cars to the Russian Federation, valued at $450 million, within the next three years.

Exit of world’s leading automakers from the Russian Federation, due to the country’s launch of military operation in Ukraine, has provided a suitable opportunity for the entry of both Iranian and Chinese cars to this country as well.

The official and authorized representatives of Volex Wagon, KIA, Škoda, Citroen, Opel, Renault and Hyundai in Russia are presently offering 300 cars on their websites but according to experts, this volume is insufficient for the Russian people.

The vice chairman of the National Auto Union in Russia said that mechanism of import that is implemented by Moscow after the exit of Western brands of car from this country can fill up warehouses of Russia and also balance the price.

Last year, china exported more than 60,000 cars to Russia and doubled its share at this market.
