Iran Opens Largest Rail Import, Export Hub
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The largest rail import and export hub of Iran was inaugurated on March 6, the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (IRIR) said.
The first phase of Tehran's rail port with an area of about 55 hectares is located in the center of the intersection of East-West and North-South rail corridors, 20 km away from Tehran and adjacent to Eslamshahr city, the IRIR said.
Reduction in clearance time of imported goods, reduction in fuel consumption, reduction in stay time of goods in customs, fulfillment of customs formalities for exports in the vicinity of Tehran, generation of employment opportunities and production boom are among the salient advantages of the strategic project, it added.
