The ministers attending the two-day event in Tehran signed the final communiqué of the meeting on Sunday.
It entails transit cooperation among Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Qassemi said participants in the meeting, initiated by Iran, made a series of good decisions and agreed to hold the gathering every six months.
He said the countries taking part in the meeting have agreed on the promotion of the transit sector, equalization of transit tariffs, and issuance of one-year visas for transit drivers.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has described the promotion of ties with the Central Asian nations as an overriding issue at the top of his administration’s foreign policy agenda.
